"The need for connection is written into our DNA. In order to feel connection you need to feel seen, heard and valued”. Baya Voce
ANCHOR YOURSELF
When you have an emotional crisis who do you turn to?
People that priortise connection with their loved ones lead more positive lives.
Connection is formed and cemented when you nurture a quality relationship.
Baya call this an “Anchor for connection”.
This anchor must be like a ritual, repeated action with intention. It is created when you spend quality time with people that see, hear and value you and becomes your sturdy, safe place when the storms of life come.
“The only thing keeping you from being happy is the belief you are alone.” Anna Draper (Mad Men)

We all need just one person that we can talk to at least once a week to download our emotions.
Keeping thoughts, feelings and emotions bottled up and suffering in silence is damaging.
I found that this type of sharing is best done with a friend first then with your life partner.
I found it’s easier to process your raw emotions with a friend of the same sex, before your partner to avoid them feeling overwhelmed.
Whoever you choose to connect with, remember what you need and what they need, is a listening ear. That’s it.
No advice. No trying to fix it. Just someone you trust to open up with.
If you do not have such a person DM us @myselfcentral or try a relative support line.
